Zimmerman & Doolittle Represent UVA in World Series

The Washington Nationals will play in the World Series for the first time on Tuesday and UVA is well-represented. Former Hoos Ryan Zimmerman and Sean Doolittle continue to play key roles in the Nats’ 2019 playoff run. Zimmerman, who has been the face of the Nationals since he was the franchise’s first ever draft pick in 2005, had four hits in the series and drove in two runs in the Nats’ 8-1 win in game three. Doolittle continued to be a strong arm out of the bullpen, pitching in three of the four games and getting the save in the Nats’ Game 1 win in St. Louis to set the tone for the rest of the series. Zimmerman and Doolittle will look to continue their playoff dominance in Houston when the Nationals play the Astros this Tuesday in Game 1 of the World Series.
