In partnership with Campus Pride Index, BestColleges.com ranked UVA as the 7th most welcoming school to LGBTQ students, a huge jump from their previous 38th rating. While this jump accounts for the work the University is doing to support these students, the LGBTQ community on Grounds finds that this number misrepresents these efforts. WUVA spoke with Operation Interns Indiyah Mabry and Blair Smith as well as Dean Vicki Gist to discuss the ranking system and the future provisions of the LGBTQ Center.
