Woldetensae’s Late-Game Heroics Lift UVA over UNC 64-62

Tomas Woldetensae drained a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining to lift the Virginia Cavaliers over the North Carolina Tar Heels, 64-62, Saturday Night in Chapel Hill. For Woldetensae, his 6th three of the game carried the weight of victory and personal redemption after the JUCO transfer appeared to have cost the Hoos the game when he fouled Christian Keeling on a three-pointer on the previous possession. Mamadi Diakite, Kihei Clark, and Casey Morsell joined Woldetensae in double figures as the Hoos kept pace offensively with the Tar Heels in this close matchup. With the victory, Virginia has now won six consecutive games over North Carolina, including back to back in Chapel Hill for the first time in program history. UVA will look to continue their winning ways as they return home on Wednesday night to face the Boston College Eagles.
