UVa to Hire Carla Williams, Georgia Deputy Director of Athletics, as AD

Dr. Carla Williams is going to be UVa’s next athletic director, as reported by the Daily Press. Williams began working at the University of Georgia in 2004 and worked as Associate Athletic Director, Senior Associate Athletic Director, Executive Associate Athletic Director, and as the Georgia Deputy Director of Athletics.

Williams earned both her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s from Georgia and competed as a member of Georgia’s Lady Bulldog basketball team from 1985-89.

Williams will be replacing Craig Littlepage who retired after leaving UVa with a legacy of 13 NCAA championships and 76 ACC championships during his 16 year stead. Williams enters during a time of major change within University with a new incoming president, James Ryan, and an adjusting football program in its second year under coach Bronco Mendenhall.
