It’s time for revenge! UVA football travels to Indiana, looking to start off the year 2-0 and avenge last year’s loss against the hoosiers.

Fresh off of a huge season opening victory at home over Richmond, Virginia football looks to bring their strong running game to Bloomington to take on the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers also come into this game coming off their own opening victory over Florida International, a game they won 38-28, despite not having starting running back Morgan Ellison, who will play Saturday night against the Cavaliers.

This will be one key matchup to watch as Ellison goes up against senior running back Jordan Ellis who ran all over the Spiders last weekend with 146 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Virginia is looking to avenge last year’s 34-17 home loss against Indiana, in which then freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey destroyed Virginia’s defense, throwing for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns, after coming off the bench. One major difference in this year’s game will be Virginia’s quarterback, Bryce Perkins. The transfer quarterback from Arizona State was responsible for 4 touchdowns and 291 all-purpose yards in his successful debut for the Cavs on Saturday.

Look for the Hoos to continue their momentum against this Big Ten opponent in their first real road test.

Make sure to tune in and watch at 7:30 on Saturday night on the Big ten network.

In other sports news, the UVA women’s soccer team easily dispatched Liberty at Klockner last night in a 6-0 blowout win. The Hoos had 4 different goal scorers, including 2 from Betsy Brandon, and a quick goal by Montana Sutton, just a minute into the game. Virginia improved to 6-0 on the season, with a huge matchup against 11th-ranked Penn State on the horizon.
