Trans Lives Matter | Claudia Hunn

Friday, October 11 was National Coming Out Day. It was also the same day UVA Alumni invited Catholic Journalist Abigail Shrier to talk about her book Irreversible Damage. The book tries to investigate the “irreversible damage” transgender teens put upon themselves by living their lives.

Needless to say, the LGBTQ community and their allies were not thrilled and it seems the real damage comes from people like Shrier and their transphobic sentiments.

This episode features Claudia Hunn and two other protestors (a student and a professor). They share their thoughts, hopes, and disappointments with UVA and its relationship with the LGBTQ community.

Ultimately, it is clear that the LGBTQ community is here to stay. No matter who tries to deny their lives.
