Shayok and Reuter transferring from UVa

Junior guard Marial Shayok and sophomore forward Jarred Reuter officially are transferring from the university, as announced by UVa men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett this afternoon.

Reuter has two more years of eligibility. He averaged around eight minutes and 2.8 points per game. He did not start in his 32 games for UVa this season.

Shayok, in his third season for the Wahoos, averaged 5.7 points in his 103 career games. In the Cavalier’s NCAA first round win against UNC-Wilmington, he scored a career high 23 points for the Hoos.

Reuter and Shayok join graduating senior London Perrantes in leaving the program. However, with the opening of additional spots for scholarships, there are now three open scholarships for the UVa men’s basketball team to fill.

UVa basketball fans shocked by a call may also be very shocked by this news.
