Public Education will fall behind drastically after COVID-19

Fairfax county public school teacher Christy Thomas and UVA Curry School of Education Dean Robert Pianta share views that K-12 students will not come out of this pandemic able to move smoothly into their next grade level. School systems will need to implement a new approach to education to accommodate academic learning loss as well as social and emotional losses for students.
