4th Annual Hoos Heal 5k to Fundraise for UVa’s School of Nursing

The University of Virginia’s School of Nursing is hosting its 4th Annual Hoos Heal 5k on Sunday, April 30th. The race serves to benefit the School of Nursing and provide funding to the program.

Like many UVa graduate programs, the School of Nursing at UVa invokes excellence within their students. It includes seven graduate programs ranked in the Top 20 nationally, as well as a highly esteemed undergraduate program. The nursing school was recently ranked #2 in their Clinical Nurse Leader Program and #7 in their Psych Mental Health NP program.

The 5k will start and finish on Whitehead Road near Scott Stadium and will run throughout the historic grounds of UVa. The race is open to runners of all abilities, and people are encouraged to run in groups. Teams of five can be created with prizes going to the top team based on total time.

There is another category to support first responders, in which there will be additional prizes awarded to them. Additionally, there is an opportunity to support the School of Nursing without running or walking as a virtual participant. Those participants will be mailed a t-shirt for registering and supporting the nursing school.

The registration fee is $25 before race day and $30 on the day of the race. There will be an award given out to the top 3 male and female runners, the top overall team, and the top first responder.
