In yet another defensive battle, the Virginia Cavaliers outlasted the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in overtime, 50-49, Tuesday night at John Paul Jones Arena. Mamadi Diakite, who finished the game with 20 points, hit a jumper with less than 30 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, where the Hoos scored just 3 points but locked the Irish offense down for just 2 points. UVA will look to build on this win on Saturday, as the Cavaliers travel to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina at 8pm.
