The number 17 UVA Men’s soccer team dominated VCU by a score of 3-0 in Wednesday’s matchup at Klöckner Stadium. 1000 dollar loan with bad credit. Goals came from sophomores Edward Opoku and Wesley Wade, and redshirt Junior Pablo Aguilar. Sophomore Daniel Barir tallied assists on the first two goals of the game.
“With each game and each week that goes by, we are getting better, and today worked out well and we scored some goals,” said Virginia head coach George Gelnovatch.
Virginia entered the game with high energy in the first half by holding VCU to zero shots for the first 71 minutes. The ‘Hoos outshot the Rams 8-4 and kept up the momentum throughout the rest of the game.
The first goal for Virginia came in the 12th minute when Barir found Opoku who snuck the ball inside the post for his third goal of the season.
The 34th minute brought another celebration to the field following a goal by Aguilar. Barir passed the ball to senior Nicko Corriveau who played a through ball to set Aguilar up for his second goal of the season.
Virginia secured their 3-0 win in the 76th-minute when senior Paddy Foss sent the ball to Wade, who shot the ball across the box into the goal for his first goal of the season.
UVA goalkeeper Jeff Caldwell earned his ninth career clean sheet, with one save, while VCU keeper Pierre Gardan had two saves for the Rams. The ‘Hoos had five shots on goal and held VCU to just one by the end of the night.
Virginia improved their record 3-1-1 and VCU dropped to 1-5-0 after the night’s victory.
The Cavaliers will face no. 6 Clemson this Saturday, September 17th, at home.
