The Virginia Cavaliers have advanced to the Final Four in the 2019 NCAA Field Hockey Championship! UVA took on No.4-ranked Maryland at the Turf Field in the quarterfinals on Sunday, defeating the Terrapins 1-0 in overtime.
After four quarters of scoreless play, Rachel Robinson’s shot during a penalty corner sequence with 4:32 remaining in overtime was deflected by Annie McDonough into the goal to break the tie and send the Hoos to NCAA semifinals for the first time since 2010 and fifth time in program history.
Virginia will play Princeton in the semifinals on Friday, November 22nd in Winston-Salem.
