This one was the pits.. The UVA Cavalier football team suffered a crushing defeat at home friday night courtesy of the Pittsburgh Panthers. Your final score: 23 to 13. Being ranked was nice, while it lasted.
There’s no better word to describe this loss than ugly. The hoos played sloppy throughout the night, and both the offensive and defensive units shot themselves in the foot on multiple occasions. It is tough to win games when committing 10 penalties, and Pitt capitalized. Running back Darrin Hall averaged over 12 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns, and a 50+ yard field goal sealed this one up.
The offense turned the ball over once, but fumbled repeatedly, and generally just failed to move the ball. Bryce Perkins was sacked 5 times too many, and the team simply got smoked. This one hurts Wahoos this one hurts.
