A stabbing on the Corner has been reported to WUVA News by an eye witness
BREAKING: WUVA News has received word of a stabbing outside of the CVS Pharmacy at 1417 University Ave. between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. early this afternoon. According to an eye witness, two police officers and a fire truck responded to the scene and at least one man sustained injuries. He was seen tending to a wound on his eye and using gauze as he tried to stop the bleeding. At least one EMT helped him into an ambulance.
The perpetrator has not yet been identified and the circumstances leading up to the incident are still unknown.

UPDATE 1: Another eye witness has confirmed that an ambulance and two police officers were on the scene shortly after 12 p.m. earlier today.
UPDATE 2: The suspect has been identified as Michael Anthony Williams II, who has been charged with malicious wounding. The 37-year-old attempted to flee the scene around 12:32 p.m. after assaulting another man with a knife, according to the Charlottesville Police Department. The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening. Williams is now being held without bond at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Regional Jail.
