Mayor Snook’s Take on the Robert E. Lee Statue’s Repurposing into Artwork

 

In early December of 2021, the City Council of Charlottesville, Virginia, voted for the Robert E. Lee Statue to be melted down and given to the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center (JSAAHC). Charlottesville’s current Mayor, Lloyd Snook, was a member of the City Council during this controversial voting process.
