The Virginia Cavaliers opened up the new year with a crushing 65-39 victory over in-state rival Virginia Tech. Kihei Clark and Braxton Key lead the Hoos with 18 points each. Virginia held Virgini Tech to just 2 points through the first 7 minutes of the game and held their opponent to under 40 points for the fourth time this season. Virginia Tech’s 39 points is the lowest they have scored since 1967 and UVA has now won three consecutive games in the Commonwealth Clash.
