The Virginia Cavaliers advanced to their second Elite Eight appearance in the last four years with a hard-fought 53-49 victory over the Oregon Ducks in the Sweet Sixteen. In a late contest that ended well past midnight, defense was the name of the game, with neither team shooting the ball very well. A big performance from Freshman Kihei Clark and a stifling UVA defense propelled the Wahoos past their 12th-seeded challengers. Virginia will play the 3rd-seeded Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday night with a trip to Final Four in Minneapolis on the line.
