As of 11:30pm, multiple groups – including Black Lives Matter activists, Antifa, and UVa students – were leaving Carr’s Hill, where they had been holding a protest outside the home of UVa President Teresa Sullivan.

A few minutes into the protest at Sullivan’s home, police declared the situation an unlawful assembly, saying that anyone who does not leave “within two minutes” would be arrested.
This comes after neo-Nazi protesters, including alt-right leader Richard Spencer, gathered earlier tonight for a torchlit rally at Emancipation (formerly Robert E. Lee) Park.
In opposition, Black Lives Matter and Antifa protesters marched down West Main Street and up the UVa Corner to Carr’s Hill. According to an eyewitness, the groups were heard chanting “cops and Klan go hand in hand” and “no Fascist UVa, no KKK, no cops.” One woman flipped off police officers on the scene.
Protesters have since dispersed.
