On March 1, Allie Redshaw lost her hand to a meat grinder accident. Since then, the Charlottesville food community has rallied around Redshaw, a Sous Chef for Lampo Pizzeria, planning an event to raise money in response to her career-hindering injury.
The organized fundraiser Rally for Allie will take place Monday, March 27 at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards, a winery in Albemarle County. All of the money raised will go directly to the Redshaw family, Allie, her husband Ian, and their 16-month-old daughter, to raise money to help Redshaw pay for medical bills, rehabilitation, and prosthetics.
In addition to the silent auction, guests will be able to indulge in dish samples prepared by local chefs. Participating chefs include Pippin Hill’s own, Bill Scatena, Craig Hartman of The BBQ Exchange, Dean Maupin of C&O, Lee Hendrickson of Red Pump Kitchen, Caleb Warr of Tavola and Greenwood Gourmet’s, Polina Chesnakova.
Festivities begin at 6pm and are expected to run until 8pm. Admission will be $50 per person.
Local businesses and members of the community are invited to submit and donate items for the silent auction at the Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards Website.
