Now that Spring Break is over, many UVA students are struggling to find something to look forward to between now and finals. Look below for a list of March activities that students with all different interests can enjoy.
For the Artist in you:
The University of Programs Committee will be hosting an Open Mic Night at Open grounds on March 24th at 10 pm. Students are able to watch or perform their own comical skits.
If you want to be more cultured on pop art, check out the “Roy Lichtenstein & Company: 20th Century Masters of Contemporary Art” exhibit at Graves International Art Venue near the Downtown mall, which features artists like Lichtenstein and Salvador Dali. For the Outdoorsman in you:
As spring is approaching, get outside and enjoy the warmth after being stuck inside for winter. UVA’s many sporting events are a good way to do this while supporting your fellow ‘Hoos. Check out http://www.virginiasports.com/ for all home games for baseball, lacrosse and more.
Weekends are also the perfect opportunity to go hiking and lucky for wahoos, UVA is not too far from Shenandoah National Park. Take advantage of all the adventure spots Virginia has to offer.
For the Board Gamer in you:
The Alumni Association will be hosting bingo at Alumni Hall on March 15 from 7-9 pm. Participants receive campus cookies. Prizes for bingo include gift cards to Qdoba, Paradox Pastry, The UVA bookstore, Wild Wing Café, The Melting Pot and more. Plus, there is a bonus round for the chance to win a basketball signed by the one and only Tony Bennett.
For the Athlete in you:
The Organization of Young Filipino Americans is hosting a Lakas 5k Mad Glow Run on March 18th to benefit Relay for Life and the HeCares Foundation. Music, food and raffles will follow the race.
