In a touching tribute, College Gameday honored Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry with an emotional feature on their show this morning.
In the feature, UVA Wide Receivers Coach Marques Hagans spoke emotionally about the tragic deaths of Lavel, Devin, and D’Sean: “My kids don’t really care that Lavel will never play football again or Devin will never play football or D’Sean. They cared that they’ll never see them again. I’m hoping they went peacefully. Just pray they didn’t suffer. They’re just kids. Just kids.”
Coach Tony Elliott also shared his emotions on the tragedy in the feature: “We’ll have a celebration one more time… and that will be the last time I see them on this side. But, I will see them again. There’s no doubt in my mind that I will see them again.”
There will be a memorial service to honor Lavel, Devin, and D’Sean this afternoon at 3:30 PM at John Paul Jones Arena. The service will also be televised by the ACC Network.
