Two weeks ago, as part of President Ryan’s inauguration festivities, Double Take, a story sharing initiative, set up a trailer outside of Newcomb Hall. Students were encouraged to go inside and share a story that they felt had impacted them. Double Take aims to build metaphorical bridges within the UVA community through the sharing of stories and experiences. We visited the Double Take trailer and interviewed two thoughtful volunteers to better understand the reasons for and benefits of sharing personal stories and participating in the program. Five of the most impactful storytellers were invited to share their experience, alongside President Ryan and Dr. Vivian Pinn on October 20th at 2pm in Old Cabell hall auditorium.
